Bunty: I had good fun bursting crackers yesterday.
Pappu: Yeah, it's good fun but I tried using an empty Kingfisher beer bottle for rocket but it simply refused to FLY.

Many Deepavali festivals have come and gone. Yet the hearts of the vast majority are as dark as the night of the new moon. The house is lit with lamps, but the heart is full of the darkness of ignorance. O man! wake up from the slumber of ignorance. Realize the constant and eternal light of the soul which neither rises nor sets, through meditation and deep enquiry.
Have a serene and blissful Diwali!

May the warmth and splendor, that are a part of this auspicious festival, fill your life with happiness and bright cheer; and bring to you joy and prosperity, for the whole year.
Warm wishes on this festival of Diwali!

May Goddess Lakshmi step into your home and bring peace, contentment, happiness, good health and wealth in your life!
Happy Diwali Greetings!

May this festival of lights help you in attaining inner illumination!
May the supreme light enlighten your understanding!
May you acquire the inexhaustible spiritual wealth of the inner-self!
May you prosper gloriously on the material as well as spiritual planes!
Wish you a blissful Diwali!

May Goddess Lakshmi bestow you with opulence and prosperity;
Lord Ganesha remove every obstacle from your life;
Lord Shiva bestow you with mercy and compassion;
Goddess Parvati give you love and devotion;
Lord Brahma give you wise speech;
And Lord Vishnu give you peace and truth!
Have a blessed and blissful Deepavali!

You have no idea how much l like you;
How much you make me smile;
How much l love talking to you:
Or how much l wish you were here!
I wish you were able to brighten my festivities on this festival of lights!
Missing you! Happy Diwali!

"Bandi Chorr Divas" (Diwali of Sikhs)
In Oct of 1619, Sufi saint Hajrat Mian Mir pressurized Emperor Jahangir to release Guru Hargobind Ji, who was held kept captive due to religious bigotry.
The Guru set forth a condition stating that he will embrace the independence only if 52 other Rajas imprisoned along with him are also freed. Jahangir relented grudgingly and ordained, "Let those rajahs be freed who can hold on to the Guru's coat tails and walk out of prison".
The Guru asked for a cloak with 52 tails, holding which all the Rajas got freed from Jahangir's detention, which later lead to Guru Hargobind's being decorated with the titled of "Bandi Chhor".
Post his release, when the Guru reached Amritsar on Diwali eve, the entire Harmandir Sahib was lit with hundreds of lamps to celebrate his return hence leading to the onset of "Bandi Chhor Divas" celebrations.
Happy Bandi Chorr Divas and warm wishes of Diwali!

The name 'Diwali' or 'Divali' is a contraction of 'Deepavali' (Sanskrit: दीपावली Dīpāvalī), which translates into "row of lamps".
Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (dīpa in Sanskrit: दीप) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in order to make the goddess Lakshmi feel welcome.
Firecrackers are burst in order to drive away evil spirits. During Diwali, all the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.
A very happy Deepavali to you and all your family members!

On this festival of light, may you become:

You are my Cracker, you're my Bomb;
You are my Sparkle, you're my Light;
You are my Present, you're my Goal;
And you are my Sweets, you're my Soul.

On the asupicious day of Diwali, "Lakshmi-panchayatan" enters the Universe.Vishnu, Indra, Kubera, Gajendra and Lakshmi are elements of this "panchayatan" (a group of five).
The tasks of these elements are:
* Lakshmi: Divine Energy (Shakti) which provides energy to all the above activities.
* Vishnu: Happiness (happiness and satisfaction)
* Kubera: Wealth (generosity; one who shares wealth)
* Indra: Opulence (satisfaction due to wealth)
* Gajendra: Carries the wealth

May you receive the benevolence of all the Panchayatan on this auspicious festival of Diwali!

Diwali marks the end of the harvest season in most of India. Farmers give thanks for the bounty of the year gone by, and pray for a good harvest for the year to come.
Traditionally this marked the closing of accounts for businesses dependent on the agrarian cycle, and is the last major celebration before winter.
Lakshmi symbolizes wealth and prosperity, and her blessings are invoked for a good year ahead.
May Goddess Lakshmi bestow you with abundant wealth and prosperity!
Happy Diwali!

May Goddess Lakshmi bless you with so much money that even Rajinikanth can't count it.
Happy Diwali!

Lakshmi Puja on Diwali:
There are two legends that associate the worship of Lakshmi on this day. According to the first legend, on this day, Lakshmi emerged from Kshira Sagar, the Ocean of Milk, during the great churning of the oceans, Samudra Manthan.
The second legend (more popular in western India) relates to the Vamana avatar of the big three Vishnu, the incarnation he assumed to kill the demon king Bali. On this day, Vishnu came back to his abode the Vaikuntha; so those who worship Lakshmi receive the benefit of her benevolent mood, and are blessed with mental, physical and material well-being.
May Goddess Lakshmi shower you with abundant happiness on this auspicious festival of Diwali!
